HAFEEZ

Bishop Lateef and Lady Taya Hafeez are the proud parents of four children: Nyla, Zaria, Jai’ana and Ethan. They are both devoted to raising their family based on Godly principles.

Bishop Hafeez began preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ at the tender age of 12 under the pastorship of Bishop Ronald Logan. After serving as a youth pastor at Greater Grace Temple for several years, he was formally ordained to the Presbytery in 2011. In July of 2012 Pastor Lateef followed the voice of the Lord founding the Gathering Place of Columbus where the church within 2yrs acquired a new church building and Childcare Center in 2018 Bishop Hafeez was designated to the office of Bishop, and consecrated as Bishop in 2021.

Lady Taya Hafeez has been called and anointed to lead God’s people in worship since she was an adolescent. Her ministry is marked by the power of God, with many being healed and set free as they experience the presence of God through her ministry of worship!

Together, Bishop Lateef and Lady Taya Hafeez are committed to honoring God by living out Biblical Christian values and raising their family according to the Holy Scriptures. They lead their local congregation, Fresh Start Community Church, in Columbus, Ohio, where they remind everyone who experiences their ministry that “You have the right to get back up” (2 Corinthians 5:17). They believe that the church should be deeply connected to and serve the community in which it is planted.

Their passion extends to educating young minds in their community through early childcare education. They are the proud owners of Fresh Start Academy, “a place for a child to grow.” The Hafeez family is dedicated to reminding this generation that God has a plan for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11) and that they are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, called to show forth praises to God who has called them out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
